Yep, I gave up this race a couple of years ago and decided to embrace pale.
Now I find that my vitamin D levels are low and I'm supposed to get a minimum of 20 minutes of direct sunlight at least 3 days per week (doctor's orders.) More modern life confusion!
But the sunscreen is about avoiding sun damage and preventing skin cancer, so no, it's not ridiculous.
I tried that Jergens stuff but the resulting hue was just a bit too orange to look natural.
No, it's not. I've done this myself. Sadly self tanners turn me a funny shade of orange/green...seriously.
Now I just do the AM slathering of sunscreen, followed by repeat facial applications if I'm outside a lot. I've embraced the pale.
