My Next Year: So Far, So Good...

Okay, well, so far I am LOVING my birthday. It's noon-thirty and I am still sitting on my back porch puttering on my computer fielding birthday wishes from friends near & far. I went for a nice long ride on my bike, and before I left on my ride I spritzed myself with a long-loved fragrance I haven't worn for a while:

Angeliques Sous la Pluie, from Frederic Malle

Created by one of my very favorite parfumeurs, Jean-Claude Ellena, it's a lovely, light transparent floral that smells like a garden after a rain shower with a teensy bit of musk and juniper -- so refreshing and cool. I only have decants of this, I think I need to indulge in a FB sometime soon.

Afterwards, I had two egg & cheese tacos and a fudgicle for breakfast. It was a Healthy Choice fudgicle (Only one WW point! And still delicious!!!) and it's my birthday, so pffffftttt! It's my party and I'll fudgicle if I want to!

Later on, Mom & I are going to a movie & then for some Thai food. I plan on wearing my gray plaid walking shorts and my flower ball necklace and these shoes

because -- and I can't remember if I mentioned this or not -- IT'S MY BIRTHDAY and they make me happy. Further birthday festivities will be taking place later in the weekend -- at some point the Alaias will be making their inaugural appearance, but I haven't worked out the details yet.

Thanks to all of you for your birthday wishes. I cannot tell you how lovely it feels to have people far & wide that I've never even met wish me well like that. Warms the ol' cockles, it does.

Happy birthday to you! I suggest though that you look more closely at the peacock hem dress. Do you really want to pay $4000 for a dress with a mismatched fabric pattern on the back seam? Very depressing how low couture has fallen.

Happy birthday from me! I love your idea of imaginary presents. I'll be giving myself some later this month.
