Please Indulge Me...

But it is my birthday, after all. Forthwith, some Imaginary Gifts that I'm Imaginary Giving myself..

JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER - WRAP FLORAL HABOTAI DRESS

A dress so beautiful and perfect it's stupid. Or it just makes me stupid. Gah. Click on the link so you can look at it close up. Seriously.

Jasmine de Nuit. One of my very favorites -- definitely Top Ten, possibly Top Five -- and I'm almost out and it's causing me great pain to have to ration it. Glorious spicy jasmine loaded with cardamom, honey and anise -- it smells like my confederate jasmine, not my Maid of Orleans (that's A La Nuit). This is a warm, sexy, cuddly I'm-having-a-bad-day-and-I-need-a-'fume-to-cheer-me-up jasmine and I absolutely adore it.

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI - PEACOCK HEM DUCHESSE SHEATH DRESS

Audrey Hepburn, all shook up and -- impossibly -- even better. This is to die for.

Suite YSL...

I am baffled by how much I want a YSL wallet. I have no idea where this desire is coming from, but it is very, very, real.

Still I want them. Ater all this time, they are still gorgeous and I still want them.

The cuff version of this was on the list last year. But this is a little ring, and it's much more affordable. I am officially Saving Up.

Speaking of saving up...

This is not just a bird. This is a Parisian bird. He's perched on the railing of the Pont des Artistes and I swear to you he posed for me. Because all Parisians are polite and accommodating, at least they all have been to me. And no, I am not being sarcastic -- my interactions with pretty much everyone I ever met in Paris have been delightful -- as I have said many times before, Paris loves me.

I'm making plans, and if I follow them I think I can walk up these steps (or some just like them) sometime in the spring. Cross your fingers for me.

More birthday daydreaming later, but in the meantime feel free to remind me of anything you think I should be Imaginary Giving myself that I've left off the list. Anyone else have a birthday coming up? What are you Imaginary Giving yourself?

I want that GV dress so much, I may or may not have made a small squeaking noise.

My birthday was in April, and frankly I'm still celebrating :) I'm getting a silk turban-inspired peach headband, and these disgustingly beautiful red gem-encrusted satin Stuart Weitzman heels.

Happy birthday to you, dearest Style Spy! May your Parisian dreams come true.

happy happy birthday amy!!!!

Thank you so much for your message. It just came in as I was posting AGAIN (it's a rainier day here, and was catching up) & I came to visit your blog & saw it's your birthday! There's a great place on the North Fork called Briermier (it's a farm originally but they make the best pies) and we've got a coconut meringue custard (my favourite), along with some leftover blueberry that I made with my niece, which I wish I could give to you with a candle.

I can't believe we haven't actually met: it's such a nice blog-friendship, and you're such a lovely, generous spirited woman. You were so thoughtful in a comment recently, that I must have missed my husband, but actually I was having such a great time seeing a few friends, but mostly hanging with my widowed mom (who had such a rough time last summer after surgery, and thank goodness is all better now), and my brother & niece. Sorry such a long comment, I only meant to check out your post (and wow, I LOVE that YSL wallet, AND the Gaultier dress!) & hope your wish comes true and you do come to Paris this spring. Let's time it for the Paris fashion shows & I'll meet you there & we can do some street style shooting together!

Happy Birthday to a wonderful girl. As Dylan would say, may you stay forever young.
xoxo

We share a birthday week, and this year, my b'day
is one w/ a zero, a high middle age zero at that. I hereby imaginary gift myself with a bottle of Serge Lutens Clair de Musc. I love this scent and have a large decant of it but I don't buy a bottle bcs it's so similar to umpteen other musk scents I already own that I can't justify the price. And yet, it's my favorite....

Enjoy your day, week and month, doll.
