Spotted today on Scott Schuman's blog The Sartorialist:
The post is just titled "Eva, Milano," so I have no idea who this adorable woman is. But I am kah-razymadbonkers for what she's wearing in both these photos. I know everyone's hating on the harem-y pants, but those look amazing, and I'd kill for a pair of them. I wonder if they're YSL? And the vest-over-white-shirt is something I've been really loving for quite a while now. Both of these photos have (to me, anyway) that French gamine feel that I've been trying to cultivate for the last few months, since I cut my hair short. I'm going to have to play around in my closet later to see if I can come up with some approximations of these looks. I bought a pair of $4 cropped pants at the Gap the other day which I'm thinking about trying to peg with the ol' sewing machine, but of course they won't have that great gathered waist. Am entertaining suggestions...

oooh, these are such lovely pictures. I want her clothes, obviously, but I'd also really like her hair and her face and her figure and....
I think the second look would be heaven on you. Don't know how a jumpsuit would do on a long waisted gal like yourself. There might be Crotch Issues.
Also, is it wrong that I want you to wear harem pants with those crazy bubbles from Fendi?
I noticed her too, but more for her supercharming haircut and face than her outfits (which I also liked). I have a pair of similar pants I got from H&M. They are very comfy and I think they look nice (in spite of what a lot of people say), especially with heels. I invariably get at least one compliment when I wear them.
It seems to me that a lot of people automatically get their backs up about certain genres of clothing-- "harem" pants, platform shoes, jumpsuits, shoulder-padded things, for example-- but each item is different and even the most impractical idea can be carried off, even the most unflattering thing can look good under SOME circumstances. I say, if an article of clothing attracts you, try it on before dismissing it out of hand. You have nothing to lose but a few minutes, and at worst you'll have a nice laugh.
I went to Gap yesterday after work (and after reading your post) and ended up with 4 items... none of which were on sale. I DID get a cute little vest, though.
Claudia - Yeah. AND she gets to go to fashion shows in Milan. I hate her a little. Just a little.
Plummie -- I couldn't quite tell if it were a jumpsuit, but yes, they are problematic for me. I feel I could achieve it with a vest & slacks, though. And the Fendis would be first in line for those pants.
Glove -- Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes. What you said.
r - well, sorry for the unplanned expenditure, but you'll look adorable in the vest.
i love checking out the sartorialist and i admire how simple yet beautiful her outfit is
I'm calling those pegs, not harems and yes, they look fabulous on her. She looks fabulous full-stop, it makes me want to cut my hair short again.
